The historical fabric of India’s diverse regions is woven with intricate threads of cultural, ethnic, and political narratives. One such region is Manipur, which unfortunately erupted into a state of violence in May. Amid the unfolding stories and aspirations for political power and autonomy, the most vulnerable members of Kuki and Meitei groups in remote villages bear the brunt of the conflict.

With villages burnt to the ground: mass displacements, heinous atrocities against women, scarcity of resources, and the constant fear of violence have become the daily reality for the people of Manipur. Their plight, although part of a larger geopolitical narrative and power structure, presents an immediate humanitarian crisis.

Engage in a conversation with prominent anthropologist Angana Chatterji, a founding co-chair of the Political Conflict, Gender and People's Rights Initiative, and Niang Hangzo,  from the North American Manipur Tribal Association.

All the proceedings from the fundraiser will go to Kuki-Zomi Pastor Mang Thomas Vaiphei’s relief camp which is working towards the rehabilitation of the internally displaced in the Lamka hills of the Churachandpur district in Manipur.
